PRESENTATION

Cinema and audiovisual are experiencing a more and more profound mutation. Consumers' habits change with each new technological development: the Internet, mobile phones… Yet, the last places where you can still enjoy a real cinematographic performance the way it was meant to be enjoyed remain the dark, quiet and friendly theatres.
A large number of spectators, organizations and professionals are making themselves heard by the government for it to involve itself in protecting film culture in France.
A number of countries now copy our film production, distribution and theatres support structure. This has made a resurgence of a film industry possible in some South American or Asian countries. Film Festivals often put on display these up-and-coming cinemas. They allow distributors and buyers to stock up.
And with the ever-growing number of broadcasting networks, the “beast must be fed”. France needs to remain a reliable and partaking welcoming land.

So like every year, here is the 22nd edition of the Nordic Film Festival hand in hand with the first days of spring. Premonitory sign, we meet again with an always-faithful audience, which I thank for its loyalty.

This new edition offers you a very eclectic programme and that is the very least a thematic festival can do. And for the first time the festival will bring a film genre into focus, fantastic film. Guaranteed thrills from the ice up North…

As always, we have been pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the many films we have seen. The ten films selected for the competition are the expression of this. I hope you will share our pleasure and enthusiasm.

I would like to thank all those who have remained with us for all those years in this adventure.

Long live cinema!!!
