Un road movie dans les îles Féroé. C’est un cri de révolte et une provocation haute en couleurs contre le passé. Deux jeunes amies, Rannva et Barba, reviennent dans leurs îles natales après des années passées au Danemark et mettent le feu aux poudres. Leur style déluré et leur manque de retenue déclenchent la curiosité et l’indignation des insulaires. Mais là n’est pas leur seule motivation. Elles sont prises en stop par Runi, un paumé qui cache quelque chose. Le trio ne traverse pas seulement les magnifiques paysages des îles Féroé mais voyage aussi dans le passé. En chemin, les jeunes femmes rencontrent des gens profondément attachés à leurs îles battues par les vents, et qui rêvent et espèrent.
There is a colourful provocation and revolt against the past in this Faroe road movie. Two young girlfriends, Rannva and Barba, return to the islands of their birth from years in Denmark and the sparks fly : the girls arouse curiosity and indignation by their bizarre big-city style and lack of restraint. But there is more to their mission than you’d think. The girls get a lift from Runi, a local drifter who also proves to have a dark secret, and the trio sets off on a journey not only across the beautiful Faroese landscape but also into the land of the past. En route the girls also meet people with their own hopes and dreams and a profound attachment to the wind-blown islands.
