During World War II, Michiel becomes involved with the Resistance after coming to the aid of a wounded British soldier. With the conflict coming to an end, Michiel who found it hard to cope with conciliating stance of his father, the village mayor, towards the enemy comes of age and learns of the stark difference between adventure fantasy and the ugly realities of war.
La seconde guerre mondiale fait rage depuis déjà plusieurs années, quand Michiel se retrouve engagé dans la Résistance après avoir secouru un soldat britannique blessé. Lui qui supportait mal l’attitude conciliante de son père, le maire du village, vis-à-vis de l’occupant, perd alors son innocence et apprend la différence entre l'aventure fantasmée et les cruelles réalités d'un conflit qui touche à sa fin.
