Un jour d’été, Solveig part en bicyclette répéter “l’oratorio de Noël” et réaliser son rêve un peu fou de jouer l’oeuvre musicale de Bach dans une petite église perdue de campagne...Mais en chemin Solveig a un accident et la musique meurt avec elle. “L’oratorio de Noël” est l’histoire de trois générations. Elle commence dans les années 30. La mort de Solveig est, aujourd’hui encore, très douloureusement ressentie. Un jour d’hiver, Victor, son petit-fils, va réaliser le rêve de Solveig et la musique de l’oratorio de Noël de Bach s’échappe puissamment d’une petite église perdue de campagne... A tale of love and longing - about the remarkable capability we humans have to somehow find a light to lead us out of the depths of sorrow. It’s a gorgeous summer day, and Solveig is bicycling off to rehearse “The Christmas Oratorio” - and to fulfill her mad dream of performing Bach’s musical work in a little, remote country church...But Solveig has an accident on the way, and the music dies with her. “The Christmas Oratotio” is the story of three generations, beginning in the 1930’s. The loss of Solveig, who died on that ill-fated summer day, affects the lives of people today. One winter day, grandson Victor is able to realize Solveig’s dream.
